The Annual Meeting was held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in the Library's Board Room. Attending the meeting were Trustees Kyle Tarbet, John VanEngelen, Monica D'Angelo, Teresa Jones and Ruth Pierce, City Council Liaison. Library Director Tara Bartley and Staff Karolee Sorenson. Absent Trustee Cindy Bezas.
Chairman Kyle Tarbet called the meeting to order at 4:35 pm.
Oath of Office: Teresa Jones was sworn onto the Board of Trustees by Karolee Sorenson (Notary)
Reorganization of the Board of Trustees: Officers and Committees a. By - laws.
Modification to the Bylaws of the Board of Trustees of the Twin Falls Public Library. John VanEngelen motioned to approve the modification of the Bylaws; Monica D'Angelo 2nd the motion.
b. Trustee Assignments for the year of 2019.
Kyle Tarbet, Chairman, John VanEngelen, ViceChairman, Monica D'Angelo, Treasurer, Teresa Jones, Secretary and Cindy Bezas, Foundation Liaison. Motion was made by Teresa Jones to accept the trustee assignments for the year 2019, John VanEngelen 2nd the motion.
Kyle Tarbet will be moving to Walla Walla, Washington in February. Former Trustee Debbie Dane will move into the Trustee positon for 2019 upon council approval.
c. Committee Discussion for the year 2019.
Discussion to have no standing committee meetings and to form on an as needed basis with the exception of Finance and Budgeting, which will continue to be held with Treasurer Monica D'Angelo attending.
d. Regular Meeting & Committee Meeting Dates.
Meeting dates for the month Board meetings will continue to be held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4:30 pm in the Library Board Room. Finance and Budgeting Committee meeting will continue to be held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 4:30 pm in the Library Board Room. Motion to accept the regular and committee meeting dates was made by Teresa Jones and 2nd by Monica D'Angelo.

Motion was made to approve the agenda January 15, 2019 meeting. Monica D'Angelo motioned to approve the agenda; John VanEngelen 2nd the motion. The Trustees MSC approval of the December 12, 2018 minutes. John VanEngelen motioned to approve the minutes; Monica D'Angelo 2nd the motion.
Approval of Financial Statements The Trustees MSC the approval of the December 2018 bills. John Van Engelen made the motion to approve last month's bills; Teresa Jones 2 nd the motion. Roll call vote taken. Approved 4-0. Financial/Statistical report: Review of the financial reports. Monica D'Angelo motioned to approve the financial statements for December 2018; Teresa Jones 2nd the motion. Roll call vote taken. Approved 4- O.
December— Food for Fines. The library was able to waive $1088.00 in fines. $199.00 was used in pay it forward donations. Up 18% from last year. All proceeds will go to South Central Community Action center for distribution. South Central Community Action weighed in the donations at 1081 lbs. averaging approximately a value of $1,621.95 in donations.
January 5— Cabin Fever Day. Jennifer Hill did 4 story walks through City Park. 54 people attended.
January 21 — Library will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr./ldaho Rights Day
January 25 — Human of the Magic Valley 6:30 pm — 9:30 pm. Deaf person, Ex Mormon, Catholic Monk, Traumatic Head Injury person and a base jumper are among the volunteers to interview
Trucks weighing over 129000 lbs. will be asked to use Washington Street as their route and not Blue Lakes. Discussion on how to use grant money for nonprofit organizations. The American Cancer Society has approached the City on becoming a smoke free city. Public comment meetings will be held in the City overflow room on January 16 and again at the Library in the program room on February 7 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
The Foundation approved the rolling shelving in the children's department.
Trustees signatures for the TFPL bank accounts. Request to use the Columbus Day Holiday as an all day workshop for Staff. The Library will remain closed to the public and the Holiday will become a floating holiday for Staff. Monica D'Angelo motioned to accept the Columbus Day Holiday as a staff workshop day and have the Holiday become a floating Holiday for staff; Teresa Jones 2 nd the motion.
Discussion was held regarding Kuna membership in the LYNX Consortium. John VanEngelen motioned to accept Kuna membership into the Lynx Consortium; Monica D'Angelo 2 nd the motion.
Ready Set Kindergarten started on Wednesday January 9th, 66 attended and Thursday, January 10th 55 attended. Dinner was served to participants and their families. Optimist Club of Twin Falls donated $561.00 to help with the cost of meals. February 7th Immanuel Lutheran School donated a bus for the program. The program will be held in the school bus on that day.
Review of the Annual Report. Statistics will be sent to the State of Idaho.
The Foundation is purchasing at a cost of $15,000 mobile carts for the children's department.
Foundation Retreat will be held January 26. Tara, Erica Littlefield, Youth Services Librarian and Cindy Bezas will be attending. Tara and Erica will be discussing children's programing.
Tara will be attending the LYNX Directors meeting January 18 in Boise.
