The Twin Falls Public Library owns the physical microfilm of the local Twin Falls newspapers dating back to 1904. We also have the microfilm for early newspapers of several local towns. The Library owns three microfilm readers, and we invite you to stop at the Reference Desk to learn how to search the microfilm.
Additionally, all of the Twin Falls newspapers are available in digital format online. Search for articles or obituaries at http://newspaper.twinfallspubliclibrary.org. There is NO CHARGE for you to use our online newspaper database.
If you prefer, you may request that we find copies of obituaries or newspaper articles for you. Fees are $5.00 for the first page of each search and $0.25 for every page thereafter; you will be billed after we have found the item. We ask that you send us a WRITTEN request, including all possible information about the item you are looking for (names and/or dates) and your email or mailing address. Please allow 7-10 days for our volunteer to locate the item. You may submit your request by:
Fax: 208-733-2965
Email: tfpl@twinfallspubliclibrary.org
Mail: Twin Falls Public Library, 201 4th Ave E., Twin Falls, ID 83301
If you want an item that is not owned by the Library, then it might be possible to borrow it from a different library. To do this, please give the Reference Desk a call at (208) 733-2964 ext 109, and we will be more than willing to help you out. Only THREE requests can be in process at a time (i.e., you have one checked out and another one requested, you may only request one more). Items may be renewed, but you must let us know THREE DAYS before the item is due.
The service is free, but a $5 fee is charged for items that are ordered but not picked up. Overdue fines are $1 per item, per day.
