1918 Twin Falls City Park Mural

George Krachunov was born Sept. 11, 1948, in Lovech, Bulgaria. He graduated from the National Academy of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria, and was later a professor. He and his wife, Marianna, traveled the world, winning awards in international art shows. They owned a gallery in Bulgaria and a pottery store in London. They were married 36 years and have two daughters, Mina and Roumena Kratchunov. In Idaho, he was known for his murals and paintings, which can be found in private collections, churches and parks in Sun Valley, Boise, Twin Falls and Coeur d’Alene. Deceased Oct. 7, 2014.
